By Groum Abate

City Government of Addis Ababa (CGAA) dismissed three officials from the Land Administration Agency for inefficiency and appointed Tadesse Debesu as general manager of the agency.
Tadesse has served the city government as general manager of the Law Enforcement Office with the city government for the last year. He has also been a member of the parliament at the Transition Government of Ethiopia for four years.
Sources told Capital that the city government removed the Head of Lease Office, Meskerem Assefa, and Tilahun Girma Deputy General Manager of the agency as of this week from their post. The agency’s General Manager Abebe Zeleul also lost his job last Saturday, April 10th for reasons of incompetence.
According to our sources the general manager and his deputy were in office until Thursday. These sources added that the head of the lease office is on vacation but it is unlikely that she would return to her post after her leave is over.
Meskerem Assefa has served the city government in different positions before she was appointed as head of the lease office.
The public and private investors have been complaining for the past many years on the service they get from the city government on land lease requests.
The nine-member cabinet of the City Government of Addis Ababa has appointed all the three officials before just one year after it took office from Ali Abdo’s administration.
