Siemens and Petram in dealership negotiation

Siemens Ethiopia is said to be in final negotiation with Petram Plc for the distribution of Siemens mobile telephone apparatus in Ethiopia. According to Ato Samuel Giorgis, General Manager of the IT Company, his company and Petram Plc are at the final negotiation stage to conclude an agreement for the distribution of Siemens mobile phones throughout Petram’s outlets. He also told Capital that Siemens has delivered more than 8,000 mobile phones for the local market and it started distribution just a week ago.
According to the general manager of the company, the phones are the latest brands A52, A55 and A50 with the capacity for a maximum of 280-hrs service once charged and they are easily compatible with the Ethiopian mobile network system.
Considering the superior quality of the products, in his view the phones are priced at a reasonable rates
Siemens plans to distributes its mobile cells to region like Tigray, Gonder, Bahir Dar, Jimma, Awassa , and other cities, where the new mobile expansion project is underway.
Commenting on the competitive advantage, Ato Samuel said that consumers will definitely benefit whenever there is competition among vendors. They get good quality products at a fair price, Samuel said. He is also proud of his association with Siemens which is experienced in marketing strategy, as he put it “We are not followers, but leaders” Siemens has already made distribution agreements with other local companies, namely Mega enterprise and Ezana Saba Plc.
