The price of gasoline heads up

By Groum Abate

The Council of Ministers has revised the current price of oil with surprising changes. According to the new pricing, which is effective as of Thursday 12PM, the price of regular gasoline has shot up by 29 cents to 4. 69 birr per liter.
Also revised upwards is the price of diesel fuel and kerosene with 30 and 15 cents respectively. Accordingly, the price of diesel is to rise to 3.02 cents and kerosene to 2.15 birr per liter.
The Council of Ministers revises the price of oil products every six months to make adjustments to fluctuations in the price of oil in the global market.
The government has constructed strategic depots at Awash, Legedadi, Kombolcha, Sululta and Gambela to store its oil imports from the Sudan. Ethiopia has planned to import almost 85% of its oil consumption from Sudan beginning this year.
