ETC award recognizes 120 employees

By Groum Abate

The Ethiopian Telecommunication Corporation (ETC) has awarded 120 of its employees for their excellent performance yesterday in the premises of its headquarters.
The employees were awarded with a certificate of recognition and incentives for participating in the Ethio-Sudan microwave project of the corporation and for discovering the illegal scam that took place a year ago.
Communication Manager of ETC, Abdurahim Ahmed, told Capital that the employees were recognized for their good performance, which he said no body could deny. He also refutes allegations from some employees that the management decided to award the employees at this time only to ease the environment that was fired up by the Federal Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission and employees’ complaints about the corporation’s procurement practices.
Abudrahim said that the employees deserve the awards, and that nobody needed to evaluate them. He also added that the decision to award the employees was decided in September of last year and had nothing to do with the current state of affairs.
