Meles hails rich nations to boost up aid

Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on Monday, January 17, Prime
Minister Meles Zenawi appealed to rich nations to considerably
increase aid to Ethiopia to meet the MDGs by 2015. |

Bank of Scotland contract to extend

of Ethiopia (CBE) two years ago for the consultation of the management
is said to extend its contract for another six months after the
contract terminates in early June 2005. |

Burnt Shell to open after
1.2 mln birr re-construction

a fire accident in May 2004 is set to be operational before the end of
this month, after a 1.2 million birr rehabilitation work that started
at the beginning of November, Shell Ethiopia Limited office disclosed

At last excellent news from Sandford School

Four years ago, Sandford Community School was given months to
disintegrate and loose out its international students. The school,
now renamed as Sandford International School, was then said to be
nearly financially insolvent, with mediocre teaching staff and an
unruly student body. |

Regional state disappoints contractors

The Benishangul-Gumz Regional State has disappointed contractors
active in the region. As reports from the region indicate, local
contractors engaged in construction and rehabilitation of roads,
including some involved in constructions in the regional capital,
Assosa, have abandoned their projects and left the region due to
frustration caused by unruly local officials and a bureaucracy tied
down with red tape. |
