BIG PICTURE

WHY DID YOU START YOUR BUSINESS?
Due to the strong passion I have for designing since childhood, I decided to attend courses that enabled me to become a professional designer. I attended designer training courses in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Rome, Italy, in the early 1990s. So, a natural talent for design coupled with professional training helped me to realize my dream.

BIGGEST BUSINESS STRENGTH:
Quality and regular designing for clients.

BIGGEST WEAKNESS
No weakness at all so far.

BIGGEST RISK:
My designs being copied from the website is a big risk.

MOST CHALLENGING TASK:
Since I established this business, a few people discouraged me about the style of design that I had developed. They said, “Your design is not traditional, don’t eliminate our culture”. This was a big challenge for my business. Weaving is also time consuming and exhausting. The quality of cloth is another challenge.

FAVORITE TASK:
Creating stylish designs.

FUTURE PLANS:
To produce the finest possible Ethiopian hand-woven wear, thus promoting the special skills of Ethiopian weavers and to accomplish and upgrade the quality of its products to attract buyers at major department stores in Europe and America.

PERSONALS

FIRST CHOICE OF CAREER:
I had only one and I got it!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PAST TIME:
Exploring the internet, going to the gym, relaxing out of the city with my friends.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE AUTOMOBILE?
Citroen.

SMARTEST MOVE:
News paper, Magazine and website advertising, distributing flyers. Beyond that, ever since establishment, I have participated in numerous fashion shows, trade fairs and exhibitions in Africa, Europe, and the United States of America.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FILM?
The 11th hour, an Amharic film.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOOK?
Any work on fashion design.
