Luca Missalidis wins 3rd Addis Ababa City circuit “Master Race” title

As equally popular as his flashy VW Beetle, Luca Missalidis, one of the most disciplined motor sports personalities crowned the Millennium Addis Ababa City circuit champion. In front of the highest number of Motor Sport’s fans present at the famous Meskel Square Missalidis performed unbelievable swerves, turns and dashes that made him the star of the day winning his category as well as the Master race.
Sponsored by Shell Ethiopia and National Motors Corporation, the Millennium second Addis Ababa City circuit took place among five categories. Up to 1000cc seven cars in class one, 1001-1300 three cars in class two, 1301-1600cc two cars in class three, 1601-2000 cc in three cars in class four and two turbo engind cars in class five adds to the total of 19 race cars one of the recent times highest number of participants.
Nine cars at the starting line up Anteneh Belachew starred in class one taking the lead from start to finish. Powering his Fiat 126 up to the limit Anteneh gave no opening to his contenders maneuvering his idol so perfect thunderous claps from fans at every tricky swerve. Umberto stood first while Sergio finished second followed by Maxime Latella to third place. The Turbo category title went to Vitorio Gula the younger of the Gula Brothers.
The final event “The Master Race” that brought the winner and runner up from each category took place featuring nine cars for a six round decider. The star racer of the day, Luca Missalidis once again marveled the sport’s fans performing extra ordinary to win the coveted Master Race championship title. The Gula brothers came second and third with the elder Umberto claiming second followed by younger brother Vittorio Gula.
