Reason for starting business: I have the passion for making traditional clothes, and of course to have my own business
Biggest plus of ownership: You will be able to dedicate every minute you have and enjoy the fruits of your labour; to help others by offering jobs and to take time off whenever you want to be free
Biggest strength: I enjoy working; it might be because I am doing the job I love
Biggest weakness: I lack the discipline for being formal and strict. This sometimes compromises what I want to do
Biggest worry: You have several worries if you are here in Ethiopia. I see many poor people on the streets that might not eat even once a day. That distresses me very much, as I am not able to change everything, at least for now
Favorite task: Sketching and creating new designs
Most challenging task: Sewing! I sew but I’m not that perfect. I am working on excelling in it, though.
Plan: I have a plan to industrialize the traditional clothes business. Our clothes are very beautiful. But I am worried about the strength. I am also interested in working on that
First Career: As a fashion designer for my own company, which I started right after my graduation
Most interested in meeting: I don’t think I want to meet anyone right now
Most admired person: I admire everyone who is strong, kind and enduring; people who have confidence in themselves
Stress reducer: Praying
Favorite past time: Going to church, being with family and hanging out with friends
Favorite Book: Minduban the Amharic translation for ‘Les Miserables’, a book written in French by Victor Hugo
Favorite Destination: I would love to go see famous places of the fashion industry, like Paris and Milan
Favorite Automobile: Toyota V8
Favorite Film: I don’t frequently watch movies; therefore, I don’t have one
