200km + of cobblestone alleys constructed in Addis PDF Print E-mail

Over 200km of cobblestone alleys were constructed in Addis Ababa during the last six months, the city cobblestone project coordination office said. Office deputy manager, Wondatir Abay said that over 185km of the stated roads was constructed with the participation of the public while the remaining was undertaken with the budget allocated by the government. He said the construction of the alleys created jobs for more than 23,000 unemployed citizens. More than 113,000 youth engaged in the cobblestone project in the city since 2002 Ethiopian Calendar (E.C.) have managed to become self-supportive. The public are showing increased interest to participate in the construction of cobblestone alleys, he said.
