Amanuel, Addislead Best Player award

Share

Mekele Town goal machine Amanuel G/Michael and Sidama Coffee’s one man strike force Addis Gedey are not only leading scorers but also front runners to the Premier League Player of the year award.
Helping Mekele to stay on top of the league table until a fortnight ago, Amanuel is considered one of the two revelations of the season along with Sidama’s target man Addis. Though the two upcoming strikers are hardly to brandish their marksmanship at international level for lack of international fixtures, they are by far the most sensational footballers of the current season.
By some chances both players are more to an individual efficiency than dependency on their fellow team mates. Amanuel and Addis are leading the top scorers’ chart each with 15 goals in his name and that is nearly half of the overall goals their respective teams managed.
Yared Kebede is Mekele’s second leading scorers with just six goals while Addis’ strike partner Habtamu Gezahune managed to bag eight goals. The comparison shows how much their respective sides are dependant of the two goal machines.
Amanuel who scored just nine goals last season flourished under Coach Gebremedin Haile while Sidama Bunns’s young Coach Zeray Mulu is responsible for every bit of Addis’ development as a prolific striker most deadly in the box.
The two strikers locked horn on the top scorers’ table thus the race to claim the top scorers’ gong is yet to be decided. But is there any one better than these two players who tried something out of nothing in order to give football fans something to talk about the whole week? Forget not what a dull season going on and imagine that minus the two players.
