*Job Description:*
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with expertise in AMR (Automated Meter Reading) engineering to lead our technology initiatives. As the CTO – AMR Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the technological vision of our company and driving innovation in the field of automated meter reading systems.
*Responsibilities:*
– Lead the development and execution of Fairfax Solutions’ technology strategy, with a focus on AMR engineering and automated meter reading systems.
– Oversee the research, design, and implementation of automated meter reading systems to address business challenges and opportunities in the electric utility sector in Ethiopia and the region.
– Supervision of installation work at the substation, including observing incoming and outgoing feeder panels and assessing feasibility of installing energy meters, terminal blocks, and Data Concentrator Units (DCU).
– Request Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) from substation staff for CT and VT connection points and identify CT and VT points in the incoming and outgoing feeders based on drawings.
– Prepare reports and schematic connection diagrams based on observations for installation of energy meters, terminal blocks, and DCUs.
– Coordinate with vendors and customers to ensure smooth installation processes.
– Plan installation accessories and obtain necessary permissions to carry out installation work.
*Requirements:*
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
– At least 10 years of experience in technology development, with a proven track record of leadership in AMR engineering or related fields.
– Extensive expertise in AMR engineering and automated meter reading systems.
– Strong understanding of electrical systems, networking principles, and data management.
– Experience with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems is a plus.
– Demonstrated ability to translate technical vision into actionable plans and deliver innovative solutions that drive business growth and competitive advantage.
– Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
– Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for leveraging technology to solve real-world problems.
