Pres. Taye extends condolences on passing of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter

The FDRE President Taye Atske-Selassie has extended his condolences on the passing of former U.S President Jimmy Carter, the Office of the President reported in a post published on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) with pictures of the Ethiopian head of state signing a book of condolence.

President Taye said that Carter was a great statesmen and source of inspiration for many around the world. He will be remembered for his compassion and deep understanding of global peace, as per the President Office.

It is known that the former US leader Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100 on Sunday 29th December 2024.

Ethiopia, Türkiye commit to enhanced diplomatic collaboration

Turkish Ambassador to Ethiopia Berk Baran affirmed Türkiye’s dedication to bolstering its longstanding friendship with Ethiopia through enhanced global diplomatic cooperation.

During a session of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs of the House of People’s Representatives, the Ethio- Türkiye Friendship Group engaged in discussions focusing on various avenues for diplomatic collaboration aimed at promoting development and peace between the two nations.

Ambassador Berk Baran elaborated on the talks, highlighting that the enduring friendship between Ethiopia and Turkey is anchored in universal diplomatic principles. He underscored the significance of cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, technology transfer, health, culture, and public engagement as key pillars of their partnership.

In a message delivered on the occasion of the Gregorian New Year, the Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Chen Hai, expressed his gratitude and admiration for the country’s rich history, vibrant civilization, and industrious people during his first four months in office.

Ambassador Chen highlighted the remarkable transformations occurring in Addis Ababa, often referred to as the “heart of Africa.” He shared personal experiences of exploring the coffee harvests in Yirgacheffe and the scenic views at Lake Hawassa, emphasizing the region’s allure and cultural significance.
