The Organization for Welfare and Development in Action (OWDA) is a national non-governmental humanitarian and development organization, established in 1999 in Ethiopia. The United Nations World Food Programme in Ethiopia (WFP Ethiopia) invites qualified companies to submit their Provision of Overland (cross-border) Freight Transport Services from Djibouti to Ethiopia.

A. OVERLAND TRANSPORT SERVICE – DJIBOUTI CORRIDOR

1. Objective

This invitation for expression of interest aims to identify qualified local companies for the provision of overland transport services from Djibouti to Ethiopia.

The shortlisted companies will be invited to participate in a bidding process to provide the above-mentioned services. Based on the results of a competitive bidding process, WFP may conclude a contract with one or more company(ies) for the provision of the named services.

• Required Services

Overland (cross-border) freight transport services for the transportation of food and non-food items.

• EOI Process

WFP seeks to shortlist companies/organizations with demonstrable technical and financial capabilities who will be invited to participate in the bidding process. After the deadline, WFP will evaluate all submitted EOIs, and participants will be notified of the outcome by email.

• Submission of EOI

All documents should be presented in English and in an orderly manner as per the guidelines below.

1. Company’s confirmation in writing of their interest (application) to join WFP’s database or shortlist of companies for the requested services.

   1. Independently Audited Financial Statement, at least for two (2) years.
   1. Recommendation letters from three credible clients and other relevant documents required to operate in overland freight transport operation. 

Failure to provide the required documentation will result in the company’s exclusion from further consideration.
